Welcome, visitors!

Today, Blogger.com listed me as their Blog of Note. I was (and still am) basically in a state of disbelief about this discovery. I've put a lot of work into my blog over the last few months (though it may not seem that way, based on the fact that I still write posts with little insight into the world other than my appreciation of rap music and bad Victoria's Secret marketing), and this means the world to me. I literally* almost started sobbing at my desk. Thank you, Blogger. Thank you, readers. Thank you, crazy world of l'Internet.

So, welcome visitors! Thanks for coming. I hope you enjoy what you read. And if you don't, let me know - fear not the label of anonymous commenter - and let me know what I could be doing better. And if you do like it, then keep coming back! All are welcome here. Kind of like New Jersey.

Also, follow me on Twitter. You know you want to.

  1. BLOG TO NOTE...nominated you?! Well I'll be damned. Wow. I don't see "the work" put into YOUR blog, but rather a bunch of words, with a washed lime colored background graced with a so-so header, AND greeted (seemingly daily)by 51 followers who believe who are blindly convinced the same. It's something how people VIEW "quality" but insist on "quantity" as a go-getter.....guess the MORE people you have and "typical cliche" letters you post NOT ONLY determines but also showcases the character behind the creators of BLOGGER period!
There are SOOO many BETTER blogs that go unnoticed daily. The ones I visit are WAYYYYY better: Sea of Shoes, What Could I Really Say?, All THAT Jazz, and A Reflection by Tuesdai.....just to name a few!!!! BUT these blogs (like yours) are given "grammys of the internet" so to speak. Makes me question what people consider "something to note" rather than something to take NOTES....... and oh my you're a Twittier....encourageable everytime y'all are! But who gives a rats ASS, you'll just have people come join JUST cause BLOGS to NOTE said so.......

  2. congrats on BON. I am forty-something and British but still dream of living in NYC one day so good for you for making that one-way trip. Loved your list in an earlier post and recognised some of it (even at my advanced age!)

  3. Have to agree with Amy Pamm. This blog is pretty undeserving of anything but ridicule. When I first started reading it I thought it was a funny tongue-in-cheek send up, but after reading more it seems this is just a really inane blog.

  4. I'm pretty shocked that this blog would receive any positive attention. When I first started reading it I thought it was a funny tongue-in-cheek send-up of an inane person and their inane blog. But now I'm convinced this is actually the blog of one of those people. Wow. There are certainly better ways you could be spending your time!

  5. Been following your blog for awhile...I'm just a random Ole Miss student who happens to enjoy your writing. So happy to see you getting recognition for what you've been doing. It keeps me quite entertained and also inspires me a bit to be more spontaneous and outgoing in life. I'm currently applying to grad schools in DC and NYC, so hopefully, I'll soon be making a one-way trip up North as well. Congrats!

Well, this (blog) is just delightful!

I used to live in NYC, briefly, but Conn. mostly- do you know Danbury and Bethel?

  14. I live in Mass and have actually not been to NYC since I was 8 (shame on me). Don't worry about negative, cowardly people who vent through blog comments. I think your blog is fun to read.

  15. Not going to be mean, but will register my opinion that this is a very bad, boring blog.

  18. Well, "they" are right. Your blog is just down right foolish and "inane", but I read quite a bit of it and will continue in the future... way to go! Plus, you can take pleasure in knowing that you have inspired me to start my own blog (I am grateful). Maybe someday I will be lucky enough get harassed and criticized by jealous folks just as you have. hooray! P.S. I am your "perfect man" save that I'm only 5'9", slightly pretentious and 99% straight. CHEERS!

  22. You make it sound like the nomination came outta nowhere but you begged Blogger on Twitter to make you a Blog Of Note. Is that how it works, you just ask nicely?

  23. Congratulations. There should be a reason why u got the "Blog of Note" title and keep it up.

  27. Found your blog because of your blog of note status - love it cuz you're just you and you are fun.

  28. Congrats on BON. I really enjoy your style of writing, and the only (hopefully constructive) criticism I have for you is if you could sometimes give a little more reference to things you're talking about that you might assume everyone knows. An example would be your entry about loving to sing - I've unfortunately never heard of the singer you mentioned (Minnie Riperton), so a song title or lyric that might clue me in would be great. But that's just a suggestion, mostly I really love reading what you write, b/c when you're a good writer, you can write about anything and people love to read it. Keep it up! :)
